TechnoPark Tower achieved LEED Platinum certification for green environment

1/11/2023

TechnoPark Tower, a prominent building within the Vinhomes Ocean Park urban area, has officially been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

This global recognition, with stringent criteria, is inspiring a green and responsible lifestyle for every individual working within the building and the entire community of the urban area.

Truly green working environment

Many leading domestic and international businesses in Hanoi are planning to move their headquarters to the TechnoPark Tower located in the Vinhomes Ocean Park metropolis.

This state-of-the-art office tower, designed with three core values: Green - Smart - Healthy, has garnered praise for its ideal working environment. The lush greenery within the building, covering 25% of the total area (equivalent to over 2,600m2), and 30% open space contribute to creating a serene atmosphere. This greenery extends from ground-level areas to rooftops, even between floors 41, 42, and 43, offering a rejuvenating experience amidst flowers and foliage.

The tower's green design aligns with a commitment to optimal energy use, with features such as an automatic fresh air supply system responding to CO2 sensor signals, an automatic operation of the basement exhaust fan based on CO sensor signals, and FCU functioning according to integrated temperature sensors in the air conditioning system.

Employees at TechnoPark Tower, as well as residents of Vinhomes Ocean Park, appreciate the benefits of a healthy living environment. With a significant reduction in chemical emissions, a focus on energy-efficient materials, and a well-thought-out waste management system, the tower is a model for sustainable development.

Moreover, TechnoPark Tower places a strong emphasis on reducing light pollution, employing an automatic system to turn off the façade lighting from midnight and ensuring that over 75% of the working areas enjoy natural light, enhancing the well-being and productivity of the occupants.

TechnoPark Tower also contributes to the global effort to address climate change. With energy-efficient solutions, the building achieves a 17.4% reduction in total annual energy consumption and minimizes heat transfer both from the outside in and vice versa.

This commitment reflects Vingroup's responsibility in tackling global challenges, and the positive changes within the tower are expected to resonate with everyone inside. By adhering to the stringent criteria of the LEED Platinum standard, TechnoPark Tower sets itself as a green icon on a global scale.

The green symbol reaches the world

To create an ideal working environment and appeal to even the most discerning individuals, Vingroup initially directed the design and operation of TechnoPark Tower to the LEED Platinum standard—the highest level of the U.S. Green Building Council's green building system.

The standard comprises nine strict criteria, including location and transportation connectivity, energy consumption reduction capabilities, efficient water use, eco-friendly material use, sustainable development environment, ensuring indoor living quality, innovative design, integrated design, and regional scoring.

TechnoPark Tower has successfully met all nine criteria, earning perfect scores in four of them.

TechnoPark Tower, designed and operated to LEED Platinum standards, achieves impressive energy savings of up to 17.4% annually. The entire exterior of the building is covered with 26mm thick Low-E energy-saving glass, effectively preventing heat transfer in both directions across all floors.

[Experience comfortable living even in days of living]

To harness green energy, the tower's power grid is equipped with a 3,000m2 wide solar panel system floating on the adjacent lake, providing 600KWp to the office building.

Moreover, the building is equipped with nearly 3,000 Siemens motion sensors capable of detecting areas with no movement to automatically turn lights on and off in unused areas, automatically dimming lights in the parking areas, optimizing energy costs, and more.

To encourage tenants to use environmentally friendly transportation, a charging station system for electric vehicles has been installed in the basement. There are 660 bicycle parking spaces and showers for tenants who prefer to cycle to the office.

Adjacent to the tower's lobby is a smart VinBus electric bus pickup point, connecting tenants within and outside the area using green public transportation.

TechnoPark is not only a new pride for the residents of the Ocean Park city but also a new green landmark for Hanoi, inspiring the creation of future green projects and products. It contributes to building a "Green Vietnam" in the future.
